Frequently asked questions.
Obol FAQ: custody, fees, single-sided deposits, V3 vs V4 pools, audit status and common transaction errors, answered briefly.
The questions we hear most, answered briefly. Missing one? Ask us on X.
Who holds my liquidity?
The Obol ladder manager holds the Uniswap positions for your ladder, and only your address can claim or close it. No admin function can move it. See the security model.
Is Obol audited?
Not yet. The contracts are fork-tested against live Uniswap pools, but no external audit has been completed. Treat them as experimental; see the security model.
How much does Obol charge?
7.5% of the trading fees your ladder earns, taken when fees are claimed or the ladder is closed. Nothing on deposits or withdrawals.
Can I deposit a single token?
Yes. ETH or USDG alone builds buy orders below the price; the token alone builds sell orders above it. See single-sided deposits.
My ladder is in range but earns nothing. Why?
With a one-sided deposit, the bin at the current price is empty. Fees start when the price trades into your funded bins. The ladder page shows exactly which bins hold liquidity.
Should I choose a V3 or a V4 pool?
Pick the pool with the most volume for your token; that is where fees are. V4 pools paired with native ETH also save the wrap and approval steps.
Can I change the range of an open ladder?
Not in place. Close it (you keep everything plus fees) and open a new one around the new price.
My transaction reverted with PriceOutOfBounds.
The price moved more than your slippage before the transaction landed. Nothing was spent; retry or raise slippage slightly.
Why don't I see every pool of a token?
Only Uniswap V3 and V4 pools are supported. Forks like PancakeSwap, Sushi or Ramses use different contracts and are filtered out.
